Job Purpose:

KKT works in conflict-affected areas across Myanmar and aims to conduct its work in a manner that is conflict sensitive and adapted to local contexts. To support this effort, KKT is seeking a Conflict Sensitivity Analyst to implement the KKT conflict sensitivity strategy and advise on peace and conflict issues in Myanmar. The Conflict Sensitivity Analyst’s work is vital to ensure that risks for conflict and tension are minimized and opportunities for peacebuilding and social cohesion are maximized.

You will be the lead for conflict and conflict sensitivity at Koe Koe Tech and the subject matter expert in all conflict-related aspects of Koe Koe Tech projects. You will collaborate and partner with project and program managers, grant writers, and other stakeholders to implement conflict sensitivity as a cross-cutting issue for Koe Koe Tech’s work. You will review existing projects and advise on proposals and new project design to mainstream conflict-sensitive approach across Koe Koe Tech’s project cycle. You will be an enthusiastic and analytic-driven professional whose work will focus on ensuring that Koe Koe Tech projects are conflict sensitive, research informed, and as beneficial as possible for the people of Myanmar.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Implement KKT’s conflict sensitivity strategy across programs and develop an action plan with recommendations for adherence to principles of conflict sensitivity and “do no harm.”
  • Work with business development team, project managers, and data scientists to establish practices and standardize procedures for conflict sensitivity across programming.
  • Review project proposals and advise grant-writers on project design in a conflict-sensitive manner.
  • Carry out context analysis to support project proposals and design.
  • Identify risks KKT may face and propose risk mitigation plans.
  • Work with the monitoring and evaluation team to identify and monitor conflict-related indicators across projects.
  • Conduct conflict sensitivity assessments of projects and draft impact assessment reports with guidance on modifications to projects and lessons learned.

Qualifications:

  • BA in a qualitative discipline: Political Science, International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Development, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of the geopolitical context in Myanmar
  • Knowledge of conflict sensitivity and peace and conflict issues
  • Experience working in or with conflict-affected environments
  • Good command of English, written and spoken, and fluency in one or more local languages
  • Strong research and analysis skills and experience writing qualitative reports
  • 3 – 5 years of experience working in conflict sensitivity, conflict resolution, security analysis, peace building, or a related field
