RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage cross functional teams and oversee the production activity, warehouse/ logistics, sales and marketing functions

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing and 2 years experience with managerial role

Position Overview

The Business Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring comprehensive and targeted one-on-one business consultations in accordance with Building Markets’ Champions Program for MSMEs in the waste and recycling sector in Yangon, Mandalay and Mawlamyine.

The Champions Program mentors MSMEs with the aim of helping businesses achieve their goals across a range of capacity building topics, including access to finance, business planning, supply chain integration, investor readiness, formalization, human resource management, health and safety, market linkages, and accessing growth opportunities.

The design, implementation and monitoring process will be structured around a bespoke road map and tools that the Consultant will develop for each MSME it consults. The position requires the Consultant to develop in-depth analyses of the specific needs and challenges facing individual MSMEs, with a commitment to providing customized guidance/coaching/mentoring to enable MSMEs to take incremental steps towards achieving their goals. This position is based in Yangon and requires travel to Mandalay and Mawlamyine.

Responsibilities and Duties

Tasks for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Through one-on-one consultations with business owners, develop a nuanced understanding of the needs and challenges facing individual MSMEs that have been selected to participate in Building Markets’ Champions program;
• Design an advanced, tailored capacity building roadmap and implementation plan for each participating MSME;
• Implement customized training and technical assistance to MSME leadership and employees in accordance with the roadmap plan;
• Coach MSME leadership and employees to ensure industry best practices are understood and operationalized for capacity building topics;
• Propose strategies for business formalization and support MSME owners with the implementation of proposed strategies;
• Regularly monitor progress and conduct field visits/workshops tailored to the unique needs of individual MSMEs;
• Ensure proper and timely documentation of all MSME interactions (including but not limited to roadmaps, implementation plans, monitoring visits, and observations), as directed by Building Markets’ tools and templates; and
• Collaborate closely with the Building Markets’ Training Coordinator and the other departments, as directed by the Country Director.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree in business administration, CFA/CPA certificate or equivalent is preferred;
• Significant experience in business consulting in Myanmar’s SME sector;
• Expert knowledge in at least one of the capacity building topics listed in the Position Overview;
• Knowledge and experience in the waste and recycling sector is an advantage;
• Fluent in Myanmar and English languages, both written and oral;
• Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
• Solid understanding of Myanmar business environment and motivation to promote private sector development in Myanmar; and
• Entrepreneurial, creative, and resourceful attitude,

    Job Title:  National Planning Manager
    Function: Supply Chain
    Reporting to:  Supply Chain Director

    Position Purpose / Context  

      Responsible & accountable for the development, management, evaluation and improvement of the entire Demand management, supply chain planning and infrastructure planning process which covers demand planning, inventory, deployment, production and raw material planning functions. Provides short, medium and long term directions to the senior leadership team on infrastructure capacity requirements for the end-to-end supply chain which should cover manufacturing plants, production lines, warehouse location and size, and capacity for key suppliers to ensure right operational capacity is available to fulfill customer demand cost effectively. Determines planning techniques, tool utilization, synchronization processes, scenario designs, contingency plans, and metrics. 
      Leads company S&OP/E processes on monthly & weekly basis. Leads & evaluates supply and demand planning team. Applies Planning PME methodology to engrain a continuous improvement mindset in the performance of planning function. Ensures continuous development in planning capabilities.

    Key Duties / Responsibilities 

      Recommends & establishes the demand and supply management framework of goals & strategies for the company.  Ensures understanding of demand and supply planning concepts and principles throughout the organization and continuously evaluates performance.
      Ensure long term (5 to 10 years), medium term(1 to 3 years) and short term ( 1 to 6 ,months) review of infrastructure capacity requirements for manufacturing plants, production lines, warehouses and key suppliers. Provides clear direction to senior leadership team on investments required to establish the right infrastructure to fulfill market demand in the medium and long term. Review of production sourcing matrix to define optimal fulfillment strategy between production plants and warehouse facilities to minimize supply chain costs.
      Ensures planning processes are in place that effectively delivers desired supply planning goals.
      Ensures effective & efficient planning tools (e.g. Arete Prevail, APO SNP,PPD, SP and MRP etc.) are in place to support the strategy with required IT infrastructure and right personnel skill competency in the tools.
      Based on IP study results to locate and size warehouse facilities, work together with Logistics department on translating IP into detailed IDS (inventory deployment strategy). Logistics is responsible to consider IP results to perform detailed IDS review on street level using routing tools (e.g. Roadnet, Ortec) to define optimal physical location and size of warehouse facilities
      Ensures appropriate organizational structure is in place which enables success of strategy.  Includes definition of detailed job descriptions, right job grades, hierarchies, and clear and formal roles & responsibilities for each planner and manager position.
      Leads the synchronization processes for development of demand plans from ABP through RE to Operational weekly Forecast. Ensures alignment of all through S&OP processes.
      Ensure monthly capacity analysis for supply planning areas (e.g. production, deployment, inventory, and raw materials) in place, identifies capacity constraints and proposes alternatives to fulfill the demand. Lead S&OP process and ensure weekly reviews of supply planning KPI.
      Ensures contingency planning procedures in place which are responsive and effective to handle SKU level issues of product availability. Leads the development and evaluation of capacity plan for high peak periods, providing direction and alternatives to fulfill market demand whenever it is identified any capacity constraint.
      Grows supply and demand planning skills within the organization both within and outside the Supply Planning department. Leads the implementation of BIG Planning certification Program. Provides formal coach and feedback for demand planners and supply manager, to ensure they are challenged & succeeding.
      Validates that all metrics are in place and being reported properly. Works with planners and managers to improve overall planning performance through the deployment of root cause analysis methodology using Planning PME methodology.
      Ensures understanding of infrastructure planning concept and models throughout the organization and continuously evaluates performance
      Performs weekly PME performance review meetings with planning team to identify major issues on forecast accuracy, product availability, capacity levels, and inventory levels. Aligns clear and accountable action plan and track implementation progress during the meetings.

    Education           : Degree in University Degree in Business Management or Industrial Engineering with Supply Chain/Logistics focus                                   preferred. 
    Experience          :  9 years of relevant work experience in supply chain management preferably in FMCG industry.

      Strong analytical and computer skills including Microsoft Office Tools, ERP. 
      Distinct ability to work with and interpret numbers. Prior beverage experience strongly desired. 
      Prior management & inter-departmental conflict resolution experience, factual decision making skills, ability to work under pressure and consistently deliver expected results.
